Welcome, stranger!
My name is Sergei U. Rukavishnikov. I was born and still live in Tomsk, Russia.
The pictures you see on this site are all done long time ago: in 80’s and early 90’s. At that time the name for my art has been created = S.U.R.realism. It happened unintentionally, but still fits the purpose.
The works presented here show not only what feelings, emotions and thoughts I had at that time, but also how I’ve been learning to draw and searching for my own way to express myself. Believe me or not
I’ve never thought that the time will come to exhibit
my art to the general public, because most of my pictures are very personal and even intimate, so working on them was more as keeping a strange diary. Absorbing everything what happens around and my interpretation of that, my art has become the part
of my life. Love and fear, disillusions and nightmares, pain and anger - all that was reflected on the paper in only black and white as it comes to me.

The principles of my art are still the same nowadays. I don’t draw to shock or scare anyone, I do it for myself first of all. Some people like my works, some people call them weird, but frankly to say I don’t care.
