The story of Chinese Valentine's Day -- 中國情人節的由來
In a Chinese legend, the Sun God had seven beautiful daughters.
在中國傳說中，太陽神有七個女兒。
All his fairy daughters could weave beautiful clothes.
這七個女兒個個都能織美麗的布匹。
One day, the seven fairies came down from heaven and were playing in a river.
有一天，這七個織女下凡來，在河裡玩。
A cowherd walked by the river.
一個牛郎走過河邊。
He saw that the fairies had left their beautiful clothes on the shore, so he took one of them.
他看見織女們留在岸上的漂亮羽衣，於是他拿走其中一件。
His plan was to stop one of the fairies from flying back to their heaven palace.
這麼一來，他希望能阻止其中一位織女回到天上。
He reasoned that the fairies needed to wear their beautiful clothes if they wanted to fly.
因為他知道織女必須穿上羽衣，才能飛回天上。
When it was time to go home, the youngest fairy could not find her clothes.
織女們要回家時，最小的織女找不到自己的羽衣。
The other fairies put on their clothes and flew away.
其他的仙女都穿上羽衣飛回天上了。
The youngest fairy was very sad and she started to cry.
只有最小的織女留在人間，她十分難過就哭了起來。
The cowherd saw this and offered to take her to his house.
牛郎看到哭泣的織女就把她帶回家。
Because the cowherd took care of the fairy so well,she fell in love with him and married him.
細心的照顧她，於是織女愛上的牛郎，並嫁給了他。
The Sun God also blessed their marriage.
太陽神也祝福他們的婚姻。
After they were married, the fairy thougjt she did not need to weave again.
但是，自從牛郎織女結婚了以後，織女就不再織布了。
The Sun God got so angry that he took his youngest daughter away from her husband.
太陽神非常生氣，於是他把織女帶走。
He never wanted to see the cowherd again.
讓他們兩人從此不得相見。
From then on, the fairy weaver stayed in heaven, and the cowherd stayed on earth.
從此，織女留在天上，而牛郎則待在人間。
They could only see each other once a year on July 7th on the lunar calendar.
只有每年的農曆七月七日的時候，牛郎織女才能夠見一面。
The birds felt so sad for this young couple that they made a bridge for the two to walk on.
鵲鳥也為這對戀人感到悲傷，於是就為他們築起了一座鵲橋，好讓他們見面。
This bridge is known as the "Milky Way"
這就是天上的「銀河」。
Only once a year, the couple could meet on the Milky Way.
牛郎與織女一年才能在鵲橋上相會一次。
And they still love each other deeply.
但他們仍然深深的愛著對方。
Now it is a tradition to celebrate Chinese Valentine's Day once a year on July 7th of the lunar calender.
現在農曆七月七日，人們都會和所愛的人一起慶祝中國情人節。
(这样算起来，中国有两个情人节过了。)
