Anne Sudworth has been drawing and painting since early childhood. Before becoming a professional artist, she did a number of other things, including managing a shop, modelling and working with racehorses. Since being a small child, horses have always been an important part of her life; her own horse has in fact featured in several of her paintings. As a professional painter she initially concentrated on racing scenes which allowed her to express her deep passion for horses. Soon she was working extensively also in landscapes, particularly those of England's Lake District, whose wildness still inspires much of her work. However there had long been another side to her painting, concerned more with the visionary and the fantastic rather than the everyday. In 1993 she presented her landmark exhibition "Visions and Views" devoted to these more imaginative and fantastical works.The triumph of this exhibition established her as a respected gallery artist. She has since exhibited widely with many more solo exhibitions including the highly successful "Dreams and Whispers" show and "The Dark Side". Over recent years the demand for her work has grown - her original paintings and limited edition prints are now sold internationally, both through galleries and private commissions. She works mainly from her studio in Lancashire, England.
